The last day to register to vote in the November 2, 2010 election is October 4, 2010.
Not sure if you’re registered? Visit the Texas Secretary of State website for voter registration and look for the “Am I already registered to vote?” box. You can confirm your registration and even find your voting precinct.
There are several ways to register to vote.
- You may register in person at the Gregg County Courthouse, 101 E. Methvin, 1st floor, Room 112, Longview.
- To have an application mailed to you, call the Gregg County Elections Administration Office at 903-234-3146 or 903-236-8410.
- Visit the Texas Secretary of State website for voter registration. Fill out the online application, print it and sign it. Then bring it to Room 112, 1st floor, Gregg County Courthouse, or mail it to Elections Administration, PO Box 2827, Longview, TX 75606.
To be eligible to register in Texas you must be:
- a U.S. citizen
- a resident of the county
- 18 years old (you may register at 17 years and 10 months)
- not a convicted felon (unless a person’s sentence is completed, including any probation or parole)
- not declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law
